Black Friday might still be more than a month away, but if you want to take full advantage of the holiday season, you need to have a winning strategy ready well in time.

Starting today and for the next five weeks, we’ll be covering the five winning strategies you can still put into action to make this Black Friday a success.

Each week on Tuesday, we’ll cover one new strategy. Stay tuned and let’s make this the best holiday season you’ve ever had together.

Hi,  this is Andriy founder of Flowium email marketing agency for e-commerce as well as the founder of this YouTube channel.

In today’s video, I would like to share a few ideas, how you can boost your online sales, during this holiday season, you don’t have to implement all of them but here are six of them and pick either all or some.

Black Friday is the single most important sale for any eCommerce brand. Check out our Black Friday checklist to make sure you have everything ready for the big day.

So first of all, focus on urgency, and do not make urgency fake. So, one you create some kind of sale. Let’s say during Black Friday, create a start date and end date. It has to be clear, you can add countdown timer. You can put, just copy starts at specific time and specify which time zone and tell them one when it ends, and make sure your code expire at that specific time.

And one more thing that I noticed a lot of companies do like Black Friday, and then like Saturday you’ll receive another email Black Friday extended. Should you do it? Yes, you can. But you cannot provide them the same discount like on Black Friday, Black Friday, for example, should be your highest sales and on black Friday extended, you can give them lower sales as well as I do not recommend to some people who purchase, because if they just purchase, you say like, hey, Black Friday extended. So actually you lied to them.

So do not do it, but include time constraints for urgency and scarcity, but make it transparent and walk the talk. Meaning what you said, do it, and do not lie to your customers. Second ideas offer money back guarantee and easy return and exchange. It’s very important because a lot of customers do not buy from brands who do not offer some kind of guarantee, money back guarantee, exchange services or return policy. Like one, your return policy is confusing. It will decrease your sales. So modify it. Make sure it’s clear, ask your friends, family, coworkers to read through. Make sure they understand because if they don’t understand, I bet your customer will not understand it. Make sure it’s very simple. And this will decrease the frictions to buy from you and increase your sales.

Offer fast shipment. This advice, not for drop shippers. Okay, sorry guys I know you’re shipment are 30 plus 40 days to receive something small. So offer something like two day shipment three day shipment five days up to seven days, like, like seven days, the maximum, do not offer anything longer than one week, because you’re sales will drop and you’re customer will not return because of that.

Number four, during the holiday season, it’s a great to put your best products in bundle in complimentary bundle. If one product supports another, instead of selling two products, put them as one and maybe add some discount or include the third product as a free product as a gift. So this way you can increase average order value of the customer and this way you will boost your sales. You should always upsell not only during the holiday season, but always, always upscale. But if you just want to do it for holiday season, it’s fine.

So you should do upsell on your website or via email. On the website it’s a little bit more technical and will require some technical skills. So maybe you don’t want to do it, but there’s a bunch of different apps. It’s like Upsell or Zipify, One Click Upsell. You can use those tools. And basically if I buy this shirt and there’s matching hoodies or something like that, you can offer me upsell with some kind of discount, and there’s a time time scarcity,

So for the next 15 minutes, this is available and that will work like a charm. And the email it’s easier because you just need to set up the trigger. So if somebody purchased product A and you want to upsell them product B, you put like 15 minutes delay and offer them product B with a limited time offer, offer them some kind of discount and make sure to include urgency.

And last thing, alleviate your checkout process and make sure it’s simple. If you have simple checkout process, it will increase your sales tremendously. What do I mean? Instead of asking them to create an account, I have an option to checkout as a guest, even myself, I did not buy from bunch of different companies because they asked me to create account before I can purchase. I don’t have time for that. I want something quick, easy, as less frictions as possible, so I can order and receive the product I want to buy from you. So those are a few ideas which you can implement this holiday season to boost your sales.
