Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Rumbi Nyagani somehow landed her first job when she was 17 and hasn’t stopped working ever since. She fell in love with the arts and anything creative quite early, so Rumbi grew up thinking she wanted to be a journalist and went on to study media studies.
Rumbi sort of fell into marketing as a part-time job in university, and once that bug bit, she pursued her career in digital marketing over the last 7+ years, with some time spent in social media and email marketing mostly. She has now worked in email marketing specifically for the last 3 years.
Rumbi comes from a big family that prioritized education and exploring the world, so she was lucky enough to travel from quite young. This is no surprise when Rumbi tells people that she’s been a digital nomad for the last 2 years and has been lucky to call many cities around the world home, from Cape Town to Bali. She feels like she was born at the perfect time—when working remotely and traveling the world is so possible, and you can really live life on your own terms. She loves it!
