Vira: 0:41

Hello. Hello everyone, and welcome back to Email Einstein by Flowium. I’m your host, Vira Sadlak. I’m joined today by my friend and colleague Uzair from Flowium. Say hi, Uzair.

Uzair: 0:53

Hi guys. I’m back. Like I said.

Vira: 0:56

It’s not your first rodeo, that’s for sure. Exactly. We love bringing up our co workers and colleagues here to discuss all of the fun ideas for content calendars. And today we will be talking about September ideas. Wow. I can’t believe it’s already September.

Uzair: 1:15

I know. I feel like we just recorded our like June was it podcast and then the summer is.

Vira: 1:22

The summer is over.

Uzair: 1:24

Exactly. Enjoy that sunshine while you can. I did. I did. I’ve had a great summer so far. We’ve always talked about food, so one thing I always take away from these podcasts is like all the different food days that we’ve discussed or the cold milkshake days and things like that. So it’s. It’s definitely been a good one.

Vira: 1:41

That’s awesome. That’s awesome. I’m trying to squeeze in very last, like a trip of the summer. I’m going to UK this the summer for Coldplay concert. I’ve always wanted to go to their concerts and like it never happened. And now I’m like, I feel like I’m 14 year old and traveling to see my favorite band, you know?

Uzair: 2:01

No, that’s gonna be so cool. That’s gonna be awesome. You’ve been to the States this year already and now you’re gonna go into the uk. Your passport’s getting the works done.

Vira: 2:09

Yeah, I mean, yeah, I’m gonna show. I’m gonna show my passport the world, that’s for sure. Cool. Okay, guys, so September, wow. With most sh. From holidays and kids are going back to school, that’s definitely a perfect time to offer some promotions to remind about yourself to your customers. But also there is like a lot of other silly and fun holidays like World Guacamole Day or Chocolate Milkshake Day. All of this like funny little holidays to spice things up and. Yeah. And that’s what we will be talking about today. So let’s start obviously from the beginning. September 1st is the letter writing day. And that’s a, that’s an interesting holiday, especially for those of us who are in the E Commerce or like a digital marketing space. Right. Because I personally, I don’t remember when was the last time I received like a letter from like a personal letter from Hand. I received few Christmas cards though. But like have you received any like written letters lately? Was there. I have.

Uzair: 3:19

Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I received the written letter. I think, I think I’ve always expected like that Hogwarts. I still do that Hogwarts acceptance letter to pull up, but.

Vira: 3:28

Still do. I’m like turning 31.

Uzair: 3:30

But I think, I think I had a wedding in red one.

Vira: 3:32

Yeah. I mean wedding vibes.

Uzair: 3:33

No worries. It’s just lost.

Vira: 3:35

Yeah, for sure. I’m still, still waiting. I’m gonna actually, I’m gonna go to UK and check myself this year just like to make sure that everything is like that nothing got lost in the, in the mail. But actually a lot of.

Uzair: 3:46

Just go to Platform nine and three quarters.

Vira: 3:48

Yeah, for sure. That’s, that’s on my list. Uzair. That’s on my list. But like a lot of brands and that’s something that we’ve been discussing internally with some of our PMs. Like a lot of brands are going back to that, like direct mail marketing, believe it or not. Just because the world of digital marketing is like so crowded. There’s like so much happening in the space. When then when you receive like a real physical written letter from your brand, it definitely stands out. And there are even like some, even some like services that can help, help you basically to like automate this process. We talked about the service like a lot of time on our podcast. We are not like affiliated or anything with these guys. It’s just like I really love the idea. There’s this app called Ignite Post and I think there are like similar apps like this. This is basically like a real pen and ink handwritten notes that basically can help you cut through that like digital noise. Right? This company, they make this handwritten note for you. I mean it looks handwritten actually. The robot is like writing all of those notes and then they send it to your customers at like some point of their, of their journey, of their email marketing journey. So for example, you can say like say send this email or send this letter after email number five. And at that point it triggers the system triggers and they send this like physical letter to your customer, which I think is really, really awesome. So that’s maybe your way to treat your VIP customers. Or just like to send a letter from a CEO, handwritten note. It will be personable, it will stand out for sure, and it will help you to get through that digital noise and it will delight your customers, that’s for sure.

Uzair: 5:30

Yeah, 100%. I think even if you just use similar fonts, the handwriting, I think that can also kind of get that personalization feel to it. I think we’ve used Times New Roman a bit too much. Or Arial, like normal ones that we always use. Which one? Yeah, so I think that’s a great way to do it.

Vira: 5:46

Remember, there was, like, a funky font back in the day. Like, if you used it at school, you were like, a cool kid. Yes. That’s the one. I was doing my projects in comic sense, and I thought that I’m like, so freaking creative. It’s like, wow.

Uzair: 6:05

I was always worried I’d get marks lost, but, yeah, no. One thing that I’m really excited for when it comes to September, for example, is, as everyone knows, I have three cats, all of them different colors. I have a black cat, Luna, and then I have a gray cat named Nilo, and then I have a ginger cat named Pico. So the reason we named her Pico was after orange pico tea. And so it’s actually Ginger Cat appreciation day on September 1st. So, you know, we have the iconic Garfield and everyone like that who are like, you know, Garfield’s the best cat there is. Right. Who doesn’t love a cat that loves lasagna? So when it comes to ginger cats, you know, we’ve got the iconic staple there. But one thing that I found really unique and I guess it kind of makes me appreciate Pico a bit more, is Pico is actually a female cat. And so apparently 80% of ginger cats are actually male due to, like, the distribution of their gene. It’s called Agoti, I think I’m definitely mispronouncing that. But, yeah, I got a limited edition cat, if you will. So September is going to be off to a great start just by having a special day for my cat. And if my cat’s going to enjoy, you know, the first day of September, my mom’s really going to enjoy the second day of September, because apparently September 2nd is national lazy Moms Day. So to all the moms out there, if you ever needed a day to just kick back, relax, you know, have breakfast in bed without it being, you know, Mother’s day, like that, September 2nd is your day. So take advantage of that. I’m not too sure.

Vira: 7:35

When I become a mom one day. Like every day is a lazy mom day.

Uzair: 7:40

As soon as you become a mom, Vira, mark two things on your calendar. Your child’s birthday and September 2nd.

Vira: 7:45

Oh yeah.

Uzair: 7:45

So that way you’ll know. And then the final. And then right after, you know, national lazy Mom’s Day. September 3rd is actually international Bacon Day. So I’ve been told. You know, everything tastes better with bacon. I’ve never really had it ever. But from everyone I’ve talked to, the first thing they say whenever I tell them that I’ve never had bacon is what really. So based on their reactions of people, it’s apparently this like heaven on earth kind of, kind of food. So there’s a day for it. So I’m assuming, you know, all the best foods have their own days and bacon is no different. So if you’re one of those people, you know, that has their bacon with their breakfast or anything like that, that crisp, you’re set. You’ll have it on September 3rd instead of having your normal, you know, pancakes. Save that for later because we’re going to talk about that later in this call. But when it comes to bacon, September 3rd is your day.

Vira: 8:37

Oh gosh. It’s a silly, silly holiday. I first time I had bacon was like two years ago. I think not even two years, like a year ago because I haven’t, I haven’t eaten like meat for like 12 years. I was like a vegetarian or pescatarian or whatever and then. And I’ve never had bacon before that because that’s not a part of our like Ukrainian cuisine very much. So that was interesting to try it for the first time when you’re like in your 30s or something. That was, that was an interesting experience. It’s just like as, as good as they say. Uzair. It’s as good as they say.

Uzair: 9:09

I’ve had, I’ve had bacon flavored potato chips that didn’t actually have bacon in them and I didn’t really understand the thing. It was okay. But I think we got to Vira. We got to get you to try some Pakistani foods. I think we’re going to need, we’re going to have to try, get you some Pakistani cuisine to kind of show you what you’re missing out on.

Vira: 9:27

We need to do this Industan Pakistan call just like you said today. You know when like our, Indian, our Indian team will get together, you will be, you will be the Pakistani team or whatever. We’re going to do this like call where everyone is shouting and Whoever is louder.

Uzair: 9:43

It’s going to be a potluck based off.

Vira: 9:44

Oh yeah. I’ve never, I’ve never had Pakistani food like ever. So I’d be, I’d be curious. Curious to try.

Uzair: 9:50

We’ll change it. Well, you’ll have Bryani and you’ll never talk about bacon ever again. I’ll guarantee you that.

Vira: 9:55

Let’s do this. Let’s do this. There. Okay, cool. September 5th is kind of a big one for all of us in marketing. In the email marketing. It’s a Labor Day, right? And Labor Day is one of the most significant holidays of the years. In the E Commerce, it’s the long weekend. It often means the, like the relaxation or vacation time for many. It’s also kind of like a last summer weekend of the year. So you’re like celebrating fall almost. But that’s not the only reason why many brands actually celebrate this day, Labor Day. It’s also just like I said, beginning of fall season. So lots of brands are pushing their back to school promotions, pushing their fall collections, everything. Also like the busy shopping period, right. For the year because parents are preparing their kids to go to school or to college. People are like moving usually starting new jobs, starting new life. Basically September is like new year, new you kind of thing, but in the middle of the year.

Uzair: 10:55

Exactly.

Vira: 10:55

So you can definitely do a sale. That’s a very popular time for a sale. Very popular time to push your product and stuff like that. But also you can like approach it from different angles. If you say don’t want to do like as many sales as the brand. I really like this email by jewelry brand. I hope I’m pronouncing them right. It’s called Aurate and it’s basically instead of like doing a good old promotion or like a fall collection or something, they basically sent an email to honor their craftspeople who work tirelessly to create their jewelry because all of their jewelry is like handmade. So they basically took time to honor the people behind the brand, to basically introduce them to the brand. And it’s always a good, it’s always a good idea to give that little of behind the scenes look at the brand. Right. It makes, I feel like it almost makes it more human, if you know what I mean.

Uzair: 11:51

So 100% just seeing the people behind your product.

Vira: 11:54

Right. So I really like that angle. It wasn’t typical. But if you guys are in the similar industry, but if you have some like craftspeople who are like doing all of the things or if you just want to, I Don’t know, spotlight all of the people who put all the hard works into their, into your brand. Labor Day is an interesting way to recognize them.

Uzair: 12:13

Yeah, yeah, that’s actually a really unique way to do it. And I think following along that, just kind of trying something like that’s not really typical is for some companies, what they like doing is to get on your subscribers minds earlier than the actual Labor Day itself. So because a lot of companies, they realize, you know, Labor Day weekend, a lot of people are going to be out and about with their families, you know, going up to their cottages or what have you. So a lot of them, what they’ll end up doing is that they’ll actually put their sale out earlier and they’ll give the reason that, listen, by the time, you know, Labor Day weekend rolls around, we’re going to be enjoying ourselves just like you guys are off enjoying yourselves. And so I think this one company that did it, I think it was Huckleberry. Huckberry, sorry, they had an email that went out going along these lines and they said, listen, if you place your order by a certain time, you’re guaranteed to be going away with it. So when it comes time for your vacation, when it comes time for your road trip, what have you order early so you can actually enjoy it on Labor Day. Which I found really unique. And I think that’s a great way to kind of position yourself. And then that way people that are, you know, out or busy or out with their family, they’ll actually be able to, I feel like, you know, engage with your emails earlier instead of going on a checking their emails online on their day off essentially, if that makes sense.

Vira: 13:55

That’s a good one. That’s a good one. And also quite a unique angle because usually brands are like, hey, we’re available whenever you need us, like we’re here for you. But this one, it also makes it a bit more human. They’re like, yeah, we’re humans too. We’re just gonna be eating burgers and like doing like hot grill and stuff like that. And we’ll not have time for, for work because it’s a Labor Day weekend. That’s, that’s a, that’s an interesting angle. Chobani, the yogurt company, they kind a really cool email last year too, they did like more time to try something new kind of email because for a lot of people Labor Day is like a mini vacation. Some people are taking additional days off and stuff like that. So Chobani sends like a bunch of recipes to try this long weekend with their product, obviously. So you could like do the dip for the, for the party or you can try like this like smoothie or whatever. Because. Yeah, because people do usually tend to have more time and be more creative, more adventurous with their food around the holiday holidays. So it doesn’t have to be, what we’re trying to say is that it doesn’t have to be the sale, it doesn’t have to be the discount. If you want to stay away from the discount, okay, that’s fine. You can do the guaranteed time delivery. You can maybe share some recipe, maybe you can talk about all of the people who put the heart, a lot of hard work into your brand. So yeah, you can be, you can be really creative. But definitely don’t ignore Labor Day because that’s like one of the most significant holidays of the year in the e Commerce.

Uzair: 15:23

Yeah, 100%. 100%. And then right after that, what ends up following is a very relaxed day. I feel like I’m getting all the relaxed days today, so I’m kind of happy with this. But so 6th September is actually Read a Book day. So this is a really unique way to kind of put out a more informative email, if you will. Right. So you can like take, so you can encourage your, you know, your readers and everyone to kind of take some time on the holiday to curl up with an interesting book and then you can also just tie that into your industry. Right. So for example, if your brand is in the wellness niche, you can create an email going over, you know, top 10 books to read this fall or five books, books. Every wellness enthusiast should read things like that to kind of, you know, give them something more informative. It doesn’t really have to be product related or sale related, but just more of like an informational piece of that if, if you will. Right. So I think that’s a really unique data kind of put into your brand and I think a lot of brands will have their own niche and there’s going to be books relating to your niche that I think we can, you know, put out there and let them know that, you know, here’s some books that we think you might like. So I think that’s a really good one to do. But another one that I really liked was that September 6th is also fight Procrastination Day.

Vira: 16:32

So this is my personal.

Uzair: 16:34

We were talking about lazy days before. Exactly. So I think this is, this is made for me as well. And I think a really unique and I think really, you know, upfront way to kind of Go about this is when it comes to your abandoned cart emails or things like that, or if there’s a, you know, you have a. If today been thinking about a certain product, you can kind of let them know that, hey, today’s, you know, today’s a procrastinate fight, procrastination day. Let’s get you to, you know, pull the trigger on that product. Let’s get you to, you know, make that decision. If you’ve been procrastinating from buying us for a little while now, there’s a day for it. Today’s that day. Right. So I think that’s a. It’s a fun one to kind of put into your campaign calendar, if you will. So I think that’s definitely one.

Vira: 17:15

Yeah, just like you said, you can definitely, like, segment based on whoever abandoned their cart. And you can even send the campaign to, say, all of the people who abandoned the cart in the last 30 days or whatever, or all of the people who have something in their cart, or all of the people who visited your website but never finished the product. Right. So kind of you can send it to the interested group. And that’s a very powerful segmentation strategy that I’ve started using with, like, a lot of my clients. And for one of my clients, we quadrupled the revenue from the campaign using that strategy versus just like an engaged session segment strategy, you know, just like sending to people who are specifically interested in this collection or in this product. So I really like your idea about the abandonment card. I think I’m gonna. I’m gonna actually have to redo some of my calendars for September.

Uzair: 18:01

I have to do it every time we have this podcast. I always get so many great ideas from this. But, yeah, I’m glad we’ll be able to put that one in. And then right off the heels of that is Star Trek Day. So I know we spoke back in May about Star Wars Day, so Star Trek fans, don’t worry my mom, if you’re listening to this, I know you’re a Star Trek. You never really heard Star Wars. There’s a day for it we didn’t forget. So the 8th of September is actually Star Trek Day. And as the great Dr. Spock said, right, Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end. So it would be highly illogical not to share some geeky goodness on the day honoring him. Right. So I think it’s definitely one that can be fun to implement. I think it’s a great one. And it was on this day, back on 8th of September way back in 1966, which is the year my dad was born. So I don’t know if that’s a really long time ago. I don’t want to call them old, but when the first original series premiered. Right. So you can always wish your audience to live long and prosper today. So I think that one’s a really fun one.

Vira: 18:59

That’s a good one. That’s a good one. Are you the Star Trek team or you’re the team Star Wars? Well, I guess I know them.

Uzair: 19:06

I can’t because remember on the main podcast I told everyone I was a Star wars fan. I am, but I’m a bigger Star Trek fan. My brother’s a bigger Star wars fan. I’m team Star Trek. I need. I think it’s just because the premise, right, I think Star wars was all about, you know, fighting through liberation and everything and all that, whereas Star Trek was just about Discovery. Right. Like they were just finding, going where no man has gone before and all that fun stuff. So I think, I think when it came to Star Trek, I just really liked the design of their spaceship more. I think that’s what it comes down to.

Vira: 19:40

It all comes down to the design of the spaceship. This. That’s how it is. Awesome. At 10th of December swap ideas days. It’s a day to obviously share some ideas. Maybe you can barter your product in exchange for different perspectives from your customers. It’s held annually on September 10th and it’s a great also day to maybe send a survey to your customer or to schedule a call with some of your top top vaps and just like to, to, to thank them for being your loyal fan and also to get some like insights them right to. It’s always, it’s always good to have that different perspective on your product, on your marketing, especially from someone who knows you well, who cares about you. So definitely, definitely do it. And also if you do it, if you do the surveys through the app, like for example, Typeform, again we’re not like affiliated with them, but I know a lot of our clients are using Typeform and they do like it a lot. If you do your survey through the app like Typeform, you can even create those like custom properties that you will, will later add to customers profiles and then you can use them as sort of like a segmentation tool. Right? So that’s what I’ve done with my pet supplement brand and that’s what we’ve done. We basically ask them all of these questions like how old is your pet? Or like what’s the size of your pet. Are they like in this category of pets or like this category of pets? What breed are they? And then knowing that information, we can like better segment based on like that information that, that we have. We know that if the pet is like 10 year old and they’re like 30 pounds or whatever, this is the supplements that they will likely be interested in. So you can definitely collect that information and then use it for the segmentation in the future. So swap ideas. Day 10th of September.

Uzair: 21:35

Perfect. So and then the one coming up after that is. So this is again, I always get the fun milkshake ones. So 12th of September is actually, you know, International Milkshake day. So again, one of my favorites. I don’t really need a reason to drink milkshakes, but listen, if there’s a day for it, I’m not gonna complain. So September 12th is actually national Chocolate Milkshake Day. And so I think one of the coolest facts that I found out just today while I was trying to read up on this was that back in the, like in 1885, milkshakes were actually alcoholic drinks that just contained whiskey. So like, if you thought, you know, milkshakes couldn’t really change up, listen, they. Back in 1885, people were enjoying milkshakes for a whole other reason.

Vira: 22:19

Oh, wow.

Uzair: 22:19

So by the time like the 1900s rolled around, they become wholesome, milky drinks containing ice cream. So, you know, chocolate milkshake day combines those two awesome ingredients, chocolate and ice cream. Like what better combination can you think of? Because those two things, things hand in hand. Vira, have you ever had fries with milkshake? Have you ever dipped fries into milkshake?

Vira: 22:40

I did dip my fries into the ice cream into McDonald’s vanilla. This like cone ice cream, you know, so I, I kind, I kind of did. It’s close and it’s super good. It’s like sweet and salty together. Oof. So good. I do need to try this milkshake. I’m not a chocolate milkshake team. No, I’m like vanilla, Vanilla milkshake shake all the way.

Uzair: 23:03

I like strawberries. I like strawberry milkshake. I think those are, I think those are like the unheard of or like the, you know, like the unknown ones people. Exactly.

Vira: 23:12

I still remember. You’re interesting the, the fact that you mentioned that like in Pakistan, do you guys have like a teeny tiny little ice cream cones in McDonald’s? Oh yeah.

Uzair: 23:23

I sent you a picture. Yeah, I sent you a picture.

Vira: 23:25

Yeah, like, it’s so good. I, I want to try that.

Uzair: 23:28

Listen, like, if you ever had like those, you know, like those ice cream cones that you get in grocery stores, like the packed up ones, and you know, at the bottom of those cones they have that chocolate filling. Yeah, these are just that. That’s all this is like the entire chocolate. Like the entire cone is that chocolate filled portion.

Vira: 23:45

It’s like the best part. It’s like the best part.

Uzair: 23:48

Exactly, exactly. And then. Right. And speaking of chocolate, did you know that September 13th is international chocolate Day? So I know we just spoke about chocolate milkshake day. But don’t worry, chocolate has its own day on the 13th, so it’s a very sweet, sweet month. Definitely keep an eye on your blood sugar during these two days for sure. And then again, staying on that topic of food, I think this is probably one of the best months when it comes to food. 15 September is cheese pizza day. So listen, medium cheese pizza, my go to back when I was in grade 8. Easiest lunch you could do. So traditionally, pizzas are made out of a small number of ingredients, but the most common one is, is cheese. So why not just have that on the entire thing, right? Whether it’s plain mozzarella or trying out different ones. Like you have that day to kind of celebrate it and then try out different pizzas. Do you have a favorite pizza spot?

Vira: 24:42

No, not really. Like, I have a local one that is not like a chain, you know, it’s like a. It’s like a local one. It’s, it’s really, it’s really a mom and pop store. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s it’s so. And it’s, it’s funny because it’s actually owned by an Indian family. They’re safe. And I was like, really surprised. So they have this really interesting fusion of Indian cuisine and Italian cuisine, which is very random, I know, but it’s so, so good. So it’s also like in our neighborhood. And I’m kind of excited that you got this holiday because Today, like literally 30 minutes ago, we were discussing how you were this little mouse in the Chuck E. Cheese chain. So do they have pizza in Chuck E. Cheese? Cheese. Is that a thing they did?

Uzair: 25:28

They did. They had really good pizza and it was always fresh. So 100. 100.

Vira: 25:34

Nice.

Uzair: 25:34

I love their pizza. They. They had pizza, they had video games, they had prizes. What more could a kid want? Right? Like their tagline was where a kid can be a kid. And I completely understand, put pizza, video games, and like, I guess tokens in any certain spot. I’m sure a kid’s gonna love it.

Vira: 25:51

Oh gosh. That’s like a. The most American thing ever. Probably the most North American thing ever. Chuck E. Cheese. I wanna, I wanna go to that place just like to. It’s like so legendary, you know, I’ve heard so much about it. I’ve never been there. Are they still around?

Uzair: 26:06

They are, they are. They still have a few. They still have quite a few spots. I think nowadays just. I think just with COVID and everything, they might have been slowed down a bit. But from what I understand there’s still quite a few locations still open. So definitely give them a shot. Take. Check out their pizza, try out their video games. They’re designed for kids, so I think we might have a better chance at winning those prizes. So.

Vira: 26:25

Yeah, can I go there without a kid or do I need to rent like a neighbor kit to. To go. To be able.

Uzair: 26:32

I don’t know. I think, I think you might have to rent one. But going alone, just be like, yeah, I’m here for a party.

Vira: 26:37

Don’t mention the party here for the prices, you know.

Uzair: 26:40

Exactly.

Vira: 26:40

Cool. Okay. 16th of September, National Guacamole Day. Yeah, you were right. A successful, a heavily food themed months. So yeah, get your chips ready to dip into this like lovely creamy green thing. I don’t even know food, I guess. Yeah, dip, I guess. And yeah, 16th of September, National Guacamole Day. And you don’t have to sell guacamole to promote it on your website, right? Because guacamole goes well with everything. So if you’re selling drinks, maybe like promote that maybe you have some secret recipe ingredient that you add to guacamole that you are willing to share with your newsletter, letter list or whatever. Do that as well. I mean it’s. It’s just like everyone loves guacamole. Well, almost everyone loves guacamole. So that’s a good, that’s a good holiday to feature on your emails as well.

Uzair: 27:28

Xavier, as soon as you said almost everyone loves guacamole, it makes me want to ask, do you like guacamole?

Vira: 27:33

I love it. I mean I love.

Uzair: 27:35

We’re on the same team on this one.

Vira: 27:37

I just have a friend who doesn’t do guacamole. She’s like, she doesn’t. It’s just like it’s. She said that it has a weird texture which like I’m. No. How can you say that? It’s like almost illegal to say that. But I do guacamole.

Uzair: 27:51

No, I get it. I Get it? No, I’m Team Guacamole. I get it.

Vira: 27:55

Oh, yeah.

Uzair: 27:55

And then September, 16th September is also a different kind. It’s a very unique one. And so for all of our listeners from Seattle, kind of want to ask you if this is true, if it’s not. Just want to get our facts straight. Right? So apparently September 16th is also stay away from Seattle day. So for everyone that lives in Seattle, I want to know, like, how do you guys enforce this? Is it a thing? That kind? I think because again, like, Seattle is widely considered to be like one of the best cities in America, right. For variety of reasons. They got like, companies like Amazon, Microsoft, all of those, which create great job opportunities and stuff. But they also have a lot of tourist attractions like the Space Needle, the Pike Place Market and all those. And so I’m assuming they’re getting a lot of these tourists, you know, coming in throughout the year. And I think they just want one day where they can have the city to themselves. And I think, Vira, you mentioned, mentioned summer. September in Seattle is very beautiful, Right? So beautiful. I think these.

Vira: 28:49

Yeah, I think they picked right in

Uzair: 28:51

the middle of it. Yeah, exactly.

Vira: 28:54

I think I’ve actually been to Seattle in like mid September, maybe even September 16th. I don’t know. So they. I don’t think they do enforce it, but it’s. It’s a cube that they have that they can have the city all to themselves for. For one day. Because Seattle can get really touristy. It’s like probably one of my favorite cities in. In the States. Like, seriously, Seattle is so cool. It’s like 100%, but on assets, you know, it’s like.

Uzair: 29:19

Oh, I gotta try it. I gotta.

Vira: 29:21

It’s like a big Vancouver. Well, Vancouver is like newer and cleaner and everything. Seattle is more rough. But I love anything Pacific Northwest would. Would do for me, so.

Uzair: 29:30

Yeah, that makes sense. That makes sense. And then right after the 16th of September, again, Vira, you gotta put this on your calendar as well, because September 18th is actually wife Appreciation Appreciation day. So for all the husbands out there, include, including me, who might not always take the time, that kind of, you know, let our wives know we appreciate them. There’s a day for that. So mark it down. Do it every day and especially on September 18th. I think that’s a special one for everyone out there. It’ll be a fun one for sure. I got you Vira, I got you.

Vira: 30:02

Awesome. 19th September is a random one. I didn’t know it’s a thing actually until I started researching the topics for September, apparently it’s an international talk like a Pirate Day. Do you know what it, what it means to talk like a pirate? Uzair.

Uzair: 30:17

I think you just gotta say R every like five minutes. And the thing is, like, the pirates that I know are like, you know, from Pirates of the Caribbean and everything and they, they talk kind of unique. I don’t think I can ever impersonate them, but I think he’s got to say R and maybe close one eye as you talk. Maybe have a parrot on your shoulder.

Vira: 30:35

Apparently you have to speak like a drunk person. Person. I mean, that’s how I understand it. This holiday started in 2002, which was. Was it before the pirate of Caribbean’s one?

Uzair: 30:46

I think so. I think so. I think parts of the Caribbean. Let me check. I think they came out much after for sure.

Vira: 30:53

Yeah. So it was. I think it started like before that, before the, the movie. Actually, Pirates of Caribbean was 2003, so not so while ago, I think. I mean, yeah, just like a year after this holiday was started. But apparently there is, it’s a big thing, the international talk like a Pirate Day. All kinds of brands are sending their emails using that like weird piratey language. Right. There’s also this thing that is called like a talk, like a pirate translator. So you can like literally put whatever text you want into that little translator. It’s almost like a Google Translate that translates everything from English into, into pirate English. That’s like pretty fun, actually. I think it might be a fun little thing to add to your newsletter calendar this year. But yeah, the main thing is to basically to, to speak like. Like you’re drunken pirate and.

Uzair: 31:49

Yeah.

Vira: 31:50

And you’re trying to write something on the ship with your in on the ship with your like pirate pen pal. I don’t know, it’s like it’s a random holiday. Okay, it’s a random holiday, but there is a translator. Pirate.monkeiness.com Again, we are not affiliated with them, even though it would be cool to have a sponsor like this. Right. Piratemonkeyness.com so, yeah.

Uzair: 32:13

You think we could write up the contract in pirate speak?

Vira: 32:16

Oh, that’d be awesome. That’d be dope.

Uzair: 32:19

Perfect. But yeah, so yeah, after, you know, we can learn how to speak as pirates. September 21st is actually world Mini Golf Day. And so I, I personally love mini golf. I think it’s such a good pastime. It’s one of my favorite places to go up in Niagara Falls. There’s a few places, I think, as you get older, you start enjoying it more. Like, for sure. As a kid, I hated mini golf. I never understood it. I thought it was too boring. But as you grow older and then you become more competitive is definitely one of those things that you can to go out with your friends with and just have like a really, you know, competitive day, if you will, to see who’s the best instead of. Because I can’t golf, right. I just looking at people golf hurts my back. I can’t imagine the swing, the follow through, all that stuff. So mini golf is kind of more my lane. So I’ll stick with that.

Vira: 33:05

Would you consider a sport? Because I know there’s like two camps of people sport.

Uzair: 33:13

I don’t know if I would consider it a sport, though. I don’t know what that kind of. Maybe I’m just not good enough. Maybe if I was really good at it, I’d be like, I want this to be a sport. But yeah, no, I can see that. I can see why people would want it to be a sport. It definitely takes some skill. It takes some skill for sure to get. I think a lot of it is those crazy wacky obstacles that they have. You know, they have those windmills and stuff and they have those, I don’t know, they have dinosaurs and whatnot. Where I go.

Vira: 33:38

What place are you going to?

Uzair: 33:41

Jurassic Park. But yeah, it’s definitely. They got. They have a day for it. So why not have it be. Make it a sport, right? So I get it.

Vira: 33:49

That’s fine.

Uzair: 33:50

And then right after September 22nd is the first day of fall, right. So I think this is a great time to, you know, share your favorite fall pastimes, any fall events you might have coming up, or recipes. If you have fall treats, you know, and just send that out and then just send sending season greetings, right. You can also change up the design on your emails to be, you know, more fall oriented. If you will get a fall color palette going and just letting them know, you know that falls here because, you know, not every email you send needs to like drive action. Sometimes it can just be a simple email greeting just to let your customers know that you know, you value them. Them you’re sending them a hey, you know, hope you have a great Fall, happy season’s greetings, all that fun stuff. Because again, who doesn’t appreciate a brand that takes the time and effort to kind of keep the communication going. And I think holiday greetings, they definitely showcase that effort. And then they also, you know, I think along with that, if, you know, you’re a clothing brand or anything like that. Promote your fall collection. If you’re, you know, a supplement store, like prepare for your fall supplements and then just send out like different kinds of, you know, information pieces, like 5 Ways to get vitamin ready for fall. Just to like brainstorm a few off the top of your head. But yeah, like, there’s definitely ways to kind of tie your brand in with the fall. The fall season, for sure.

Vira: 35:02

Oh, that’s cool. And there’s also. What’s the name of that song? I think it’s literally called the 21st night of September. You know the song. Do you remember 21st September?

Uzair: 35:13

I didn’t know that’s what it was called.

Vira: 35:17

Like, there is like a different name for it. I forgot the name of the, of the band. But apparently that’s like there is a group of people who celebrates the 21st night of September every year just because of the song. Because the song is like so, so popular. It’s like an iconic.

Uzair: 35:33

You know, I get it, I get it.

Vira: 35:35

That’s a good one. I even have a reminder for myself for 21st night of September just like to blast out that song because it’s a thing. Yeah. Alisa, who used to work with us, I’m not sure if we met her or not. It was her like all time favorite song. Every year she would like record the video on like Instagram dancing through that song. It’s like all time favorite song of hers. Yeah. So I’m going to be thinking of you, Alissa, on 21st of September. That’s your day. Cool. 25th of September. It’s a very random one. It’s a comic book day. And I don’t know. Are you a comic book person? Is that your thing?

Uzair: 36:12

I think so. I used to read similar books. I think they’re called like, they’re called manga. So it’s like the Japanese comic book, if you will. So I read those growing up. I read. I definitely read some Spider man comics growing up. Just Ultimate Spider man, those kind of things. I never really got into, you know, buying them. I just went to my library, check them out, read them in a week, come back, sign out some more.

Vira: 36:30

Cool. I loved them. Growing up, I didn’t have the access to like that many of them just because it’s like not our culture. Like growing up, we had like regular books, you know, like regular children books and stuff like that. I think like comic book culture is more like either like Asia or like America. We didn’t have that growing up. But apparently a lot of People loved them growing up, up. So 25th of September is something that you can celebrate as well. Also, if you are not into comic books, but you want to send something on 25th of September, National Cooking Day is a good one. And that’s a perfect place to share your favorite recipes, to maybe share some recipes with your product if you are in the, in the industry. For example, I’m following this, like mushroom brands and they’re like selling different powders of medicinal mushrooms and they just like shared this recipe of cookie, cookies made with their mushroom powder. I’m not sure how delicious it’s gonna be, but it’s, it’s always a good, it’s always a good place to like share some of your like, recipes and this and that. So yeah, it’s a good one. And Fitness Day is another one that is celebrated on 25th, so you can share some maybe challenges, some workout routines, some tips, motivation, etc. Etc. So, yeah, so that’s pretty much your month of September. Unless we’re missing something.

Uzair: 37:48

Uzair, we have the best one for last year. Do not worry. I said I’d come Back for it. September 26th, National Pancake Day.

Vira: 37:56

Okay, I almost missed it. National Pancake Day. Yeah, it’s like your speciality, right? All of the, all of the weird food. Food holidays. That’s like your thing. I want to see your content calendars for your clients. They’re all about food. Probably.

Uzair: 38:11

Listen, if you’re, if you’re a food brand out there looking for email marketing, hit us up. I got you. I’m ready. I have all of the days. Exactly. But yeah, no. September 26th, National Pancake Day. Happy Breakfast.

Vira: 38:27
